A Day in the Life of a SiFly Employee. Meet Pavel!

09/30/2023

Welcome to another instalment of our recurring blog series, "A Day in the Life of a SiFly Employee"! Today, we have the pleasure of introducing you to one of our remarkable team members.
Let's jump right in and get to know them a bit better.

Could you please start by telling us about your role at SiFly and how you became a part of this dynamic team?

Hi there! I'm Pavel, SiFly’s planning specialist and a part-time photographer. My primary responsibilities revolve around production and delivery management. While this might sound a bit mundane to some, I can assure you it's anything but. Coordinating production and delivery to the highest standards is a thrilling challenge. I've always been passionate about outdoor sports, so when the opportunity arose to combine business with pleasure, I jumped at the chance to join the SiFly team.

That sounds like a fantastic blend of work and play, Pavel. Did you have any prior experience with eFoiling before joining SiFly? If so, what was your initial riding experience like?

Before joining SiFly, I didn't have much experience with water sports. My heart belonged to mountaineering. However, my eFoiling journey began last year in Greece, and it was quite an exhilarating experience. I won't sugarcoat it – I struggled at the outset, starting with our E model and gradually building my confidence. When I eventually tried the smaller boards, I found myself taking quite a few spills. It's a shame we didn't have the EZ GO stabilizer back then; I recently gave it a shot, and it provides a significant boost of security and confidence for learners. It would've saved me from some pretty nasty falls, that's for sure!

Speaking of mountaineering, a few weeks ago, you achieved a remarkable feat by conquering Mount Ararat. Can you share your thoughts on that experience?

Climbing Mount Ararat was a significant milestone for me, as it marked my first ascent of a 5,000-meter peak. While it's considered one of the easier peaks to conquer, I spent months mentally and physically preparing for the journey. The most daunting challenge I faced was the reduced oxygen levels at higher altitudes, which made breathing a struggle. Nonetheless, the climb was both fun and relatively straightforward.

It must have been an incredible journey. What was the standout moment of your ascent?

The pinnacle of the entire adventure was undoubtedly the final push to the summit. There's something uniquely thrilling about hiking under the moonlight and the mesmerizing glow of the Milky Way. It's an experience I believe everyone should have. For the first time, I truly understood what "summit fever" means. We charged toward the peak as if time were running out, all in pursuit of witnessing the sunrise and the magnificent shadow that Mount Ararat cast over the valley. However, the entire journey, from start to finish, was an emotional rollercoaster.

Alongside your outdoor pursuits, you've also taken charge of some of our recent photoshoots. How challenging was the transition to action photography?

Photography has been a lifelong passion for me, dating back to my childhood. I've always been captivated by cameras and the art of film photography. My love for capturing landscapes stems from my numerous hiking adventures, allowing me to share breathtaking moments with the world. Sports photography can be demanding because it requires the right equipment and plenty of patience to capture that perfect shot. Nonetheless, photographing SiFly's activities is consistently exhilarating, as people are genuinely having a blast. It's a dynamic environment that demands unwavering focus.

And that wraps up our interview with Pavel.
Whether he's chasing summits or snapping action-packed shots, Pavel embodies the SiFly spirit of fun and adventure. His story reminds us that when you blend work with passion, life can be one thrilling ride!
Stay stoked,
The SiFly Team
